I have heard great things about this facility from families that had serious behavior issues, mainly escaping and running away. The family had unsuccessfully tried other locked facilities and their loved one was able to escape by jumping over retaining walls, taking the hinges off windows, and they were ultimately removed from 2 facilities and send to Mountain View where they managed the behaviors and the staff were well trained to deal with extreme problems.
As a professional nurse I have visited Mountain View Centers over several months to check in on clients progress and management. My focus is to assess the type of care a resident receives and how it impacts the resident's daily life. The results are impressive. The staff at MVC know how to manage and structure daily activities for the enjoyment and safety of everyone. My observations show people are clean, groomed, dressed and in the main room together daily. Small snacks are provided throughout the day, actives are attended by everyone regardless of their mental capacity. The residents are treated professionally with an overtone of a family atmosphere. The staff is the most important aspect of deciding on a facility for a loved one. The staff at MVC make a huge difference in the daily management and care the residents. I would not hesitate to send a loved one to this facility.
Mount View Caregivers are among the best when it comes to deal with the needs of Alzheimer Dementia residents. In this place residents are treated with love and respect. They are treated and cared for as family. I am very lucky that I was able to find Mount View Centers, for my husband, when I needed it most. They had been a blessing to my husband and our family.
I've been associated with Smita Sanghvi for close to 10 years. I'm very familiar fond of her building Mountain View Centers serving dementia patients. She is truly genuine in wanting to serve this population. I also have the same passion and conduct dementia support groups and regularly conduct inservices to educate care staff on the uniqueness in caring for dementia patients. Dementia affects not only the patient but the family and associates witnessing the cognitive decline. These patients need an advocate to uncover their true needs. Each person is unique and comes from different walks of life so their behaviors and cognitive decline is as unique as the individual. At Mountain View the staff is trained under Ms. Smita's direction to uncover those special handling (for example shower time preferences, approach, motivation to eat, activities including singing and dancing). Other organizations cater to the ease of the staff Mountain View caters to the needs of the cognitive decline who may not be able to verbally express their preferences. Mountain View historically has attracted the most "so called dementia" locations frown upon, wanderers, combative behaviors, stubbornness. At Mountain View the staff takes the time to discover what's best to make the patient flourish and provide quality of life for the duration of their life.
